Never judge a book by its cover.  Don't rightly know who said it first but it was a favorite of my pa's.   He had a few sayings in fact.   Don't poke a sleeping bear.   Watch out for a man that tries too hard to sell you something.  If it's too good to be true, it probably is.  Never let a man piss down your back and try to tell you it's raining...

 

Yes Sir, my old pap was full of bits of wisdom.   I think the one bit he drilled into all his sons was to always ride with the law, and never against it.

 

That last one ain't always as easy as it sounds.
